Several teaching assistants are needed for Accounting 311 at the University of Alberta’s School of Business.
The openings are for course manager and marking team leader, tutorial center hosts and markers.

The department is asking for applications to be in by mid-summer but the sooner the better.

Congratulations to Zhaozhe Zhang and Kevin Thomas for winning the recent CGA Ontario One-Hour Accounting Contest.
Zhang, a University of Toronto student, won the tier 1: basic-and intermediate-level financial accounting competition.
Thomas, a Ryerson University student, won the tier 2: intermediate-and advanced-level financial accounting competition.
The winners received cash prizes of up to $5,000 and scholarship money towards the CGA program of professional studies.

Deloitte’s annual leadership conference is taking place from August 20th to August 23rd at Deerhurst Resort in Huntsville, Ontario.

Leroy takes over as vice president of finance where he will oversee a budget of more $1 million during the 2008-2009 academic year.
Leroy is an accounting student at the John Molson School of Business where he is the John Molson Accounting Society’s (JMAS) vice president responsible for relations with the Ordre des comptables agréés du Québec.
